A Large Company Ltd (71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ) is the data controller for Texas Peace Officer Prep. Contact: alexander@alargecompany.com.
What is collected
- At purchase: your email address, billing address and payment details, handled by Stripe. Stripe acts as the merchant of record for the payment. We receive the email address and a payment reference, never card numbers.
- In the app: your study progress, stored in your browser and synced to our server against your access code so it follows you between devices.
- Emails: your access code email, and optional update emails only if you ticked the box. Every optional email carries an unsubscribe link.
Cookies and local storage
Logging in sets a session cookie so the app knows your access code. The app keeps your study progress in your browser's local storage and syncs it to our server. No advertising cookies are set and no advertising tag runs. Vercel Web Analytics may record anonymous page views on the sign-in page; it sets no cookie and does not identify you.
Who processes the data
- Stripe (payments, merchant of record): United States and Ireland.
- Vercel (hosting and the progress store): United States.
- Resend (the access-code email and any update emails): United States.
Transfers outside the United Kingdom rest on the providers' standard contractual clauses and, for the United States, the UK-US data bridge where the provider is certified.
How long data is kept
Purchase records are kept for six years for UK tax law. Study progress and your access record are kept while your access is live and for 12 months after it ends, then deleted. Ask sooner and we delete sooner.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, and you can object to or restrict its use. We honor the same requests wherever you live, and we do not sell personal information. Email alexander@alargecompany.com to exercise any of these. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office, or to the Texas Attorney General.
